Flotier is a rooftop wind system engineered specifically for commercial and industrial buildings — generating clean electricity where traditional turbines cannot go, at wind speeds they cannot use. The idea started as a garage project in 2020; the company was formally founded as Windees s.r.o. in March 2022 in the Czech Republic, and rebranded to Flotier in 2026 after discovering the original name conflicted with thousands of registered trademarks internationally. Flotier holds a granted Czech patent, has completed wind tunnel testing, won the Pitch Contest at SXSW 2026 in Austin, and has pilot installations underway across four European countries.
